Greece

Wednesday Claire, Lara, and I took a sail boat tour to a volcano and hiked to the top (it was an organized tour).  We even got to swim in the sea for a bit! I would like it to be a bit warmer the next time I go though.  It was a very fun day.  Yesterday we rented a car, which we christened Herky the Greek Beast of Fira (Herky being short for Hercules), and drove around the entire island of Santorini (on a 1/4 tank of case bahaha) going to all the beaches.  It was too windy to really stay at any of them, but they are very beautiful.  Red Beach was my favourite.  I don't think I mind driving on windy Greek roads on the edge of cliffs as much as I mind driving down streets that in Canada would be one-way with no parking on either side but in Greece are two-way roads with cars parked on both sides.  It was so much fun driving! Claire and I were supposed to do a bus tour to Delphi (Lara's flight leaves before we would've gotten back) but we just found out it was cancelled.  I think we're going to do a walking tour for 5 euros instead and maybe look into renting another car tomorrow to go to Delphi (taking the bus on your own takes 3 hours each way).  I would definitely recommend Santorini!!

Love,
Darcy

Aww it makes me sad you've never seen the sea! Salt water is my favourite smell in the world :D

Yes yes drove carefully on Santorini and even survived driving in Athens. Self and all friends still alive. Success!
