I managed to find a converter for my laptop yesterday at this little Home Hardware type store in Tours. I got the last one. I gave in and paid the 35 euros for wifi in my room-no other way to upload pictures! I'm not going to Austria this weekend with Cat but we do have a break the same time in February (13-21). I have another two week break in March. I wonder if I will ever be in class hehe. Yesterday I had a 4 hour placement test thing and after went out for a crêpe with Claire, a girl from Colerado. After we wondered around a bit and I found the converter. We walked through this indoor food market and poor Claire was slightly disturbed at the seafood on display. It's not like at home, with the prawns peeled and the eyes removed from the fish. And Claire's state being landlocked she really wasn't used to seeing fish like that! They also leave the feet on the chickens...I'm not such a fan of that haha.
It turns out I have two winter breaks, one for a week in February and one for 2 weeks in March or April (forget which). Cat has one the same time in February so we are going to meet up. She is not sure if she will be able to leave Germany as she is still working on getting her Japanese student visa and if she has to go to the embassy or they need to keep her passport then obviously she can't leave. But we are hoping to go to Euro Disney for a couple of days! I would also love to go to Greece, maybe I will do that for part of my second break. I've having a hard time finding a cheap way to get there though :(
I bought a French cell. 39 euros for a pay and talk type deal. I also found a pair of super cute black flats for 10 euros! Score :D Thank god food is cheaper here than in Dublin and Paris or I wouldn't be able to afford to eat! I bought 2 mini quiche lorraines from the food market for tonight (will probably only have one), a package of crêpes to have with nutella for breakfast, activia, orange juice, and milk. A couple of nights ago I had a fresh pizza from the supermarket that I heated up in the toaster oven.
Might be going to a football game this weekend. Tours has a professional team! Okay picture time:
